Hi there! I’m Sarveen, and I’m really excited to share my journey of moving from India to Germany. I’m an IT specialist by profession and a digital marketer at heart. ❤️

The Beginning of the Journey

It all started back in 2014.

Was I unhappy in India?

Not at all.

In fact, I spent some of the best years of my life there. I made beautiful friendships that I’ll cherish forever, completed my degree as an IT professional, and kicked off my career with my first internship at AON Hewitt. Over the next 7 years, I gained experience as a Software Test Engineer and a Business Analyst.

The Desire to Explore

India is a beautiful country, and I have so many wonderful memories close to my heart. But life called me to explore the world, and I knew Europe was the right place to fulfill that dream. Living in Gurgaon, working a 9-to-5 job, and enjoying the routine, something was still missing. I knew it was time to explore new opportunities.

A Leap of Faith

I took a step forward, trusting it would work out and followed my heart, though there were twists along the way that I’ll save for later. I joined Accenture, Germany, and worked there for a few years as a Scrum Master. But as life would have it, my contract ended just as I was starting my maternity leave.

Making the Most of the Time

Rather than waiting around, I was determined to make the most of my time. I wanted to keep growing, so I enrolled in a six-month vocational training program at Alfatraining, a German digital technology school.

Before I share my story further, let me tell you what made me fall in love with Europe when I first arrived.

My Love for Europe and New Opportunities

When I arrived in Munich, I fell in love with the green spaces. I spent weekends exploring nature and traveling across Europe to places like Spain, Venice, Prague, and Switzerland. But it wasn’t just about the beauty—it was about the opportunities that Europe offered for both my personal and professional growth.

Learning and Growing: A Turning Point

The course I enrolled in was conducted in German, but I already held a B2-level certificate in the language, so I felt confident diving into coding. However, what truly changed my career path was my decision to take a digital marketing module, just out of curiosity.

This unexpected choice ignited a passion for digital marketing, and I realized it was my true calling. I made the bold switch from IT professional to Digital Marketing Strategist, and that’s when everything started to fall into place.

Training at No Cost: A Gift I’ll Never Forget

What made this transition even more remarkable was that I was able to complete the training program at no cost. Typically, these courses can cost anywhere between €7,000 and €9,000, but thanks to sponsorship, I didn’t pay a cent!

Securing Clients: The Power of LinkedIn

By the end of the course, I had already secured several international clients. How? Simple—LinkedIn. By optimizing my profile and reaching out to potential clients, I quickly built a reputation that led to multiple opportunities.

Today: Where I Stand

Today, I’m not just a Digital Marketing Strategist. I’m also a cornerstone of Conical Education. As the Content Strategist for Conical Education
, I handle everything from web development and copywriting to performance marketing and analytics.

I’ve been sharing my professional journey, but I haven’t told you about the unbreakable bond I have with my home country. It’s this deep connection that pulls me back to India once or twice a year. I miss everything—the familiar air, the warm sunshine, the smells that bring back memories, my people, and, of course, the soul food that always feels like home.

And the soil—oh, the soil—I long to touch it, to feel its warmth under my fingers, as it carries the essence of my roots.

From my experience, don’t chase money. Focus on your health first. There will be times when you face challenges and earn less, but if you prioritize your well-being, everything else will fall into place in the long run.
